About Worldflight:

Cockpitbuilders Worldflight Team USAThe concept of a virtual, round the world flight for charity was started by a team in the United Kingdom and has spawned an annual event with participants all over the globe. This will be our Sixth Worldflight event, and it continues each year moving forward.  Over the years World Flight Team USA Has Raised Over $13,000USD for the All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg Florida. The Australian teams have raised over $280,000AUD for The Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service – South Eastern Region. These funds have been directed to specific projects at the RFDS including Fly Around Clinics, Avionics and Navigation Equipment for their Beechcraft King Air aircraft..

With each passing year we have more Fixed Based Simulators joining in the round the world flight, each of them raising money for their own elected charity. Since WorldFlight started in 2000 their have been cockpit simulators from Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, Austria, Canada and the USA accompany the Australian teams on the fundraising flights.

This Year, We are still in the rebuilding process following the Hurricanes that hit the Florida Coast in 2017. Again, similar to last year we are going to have a crew in VA help us out by housing some of our regular pilots. They will operate as United 1120 (UAL1120) and inconjunction with that crew our smaller crew will be live streaming Worldflight 2018. All to help the children at ACH at the same time.

Each of our volunteer crew will have contributed a donation to our charity the "All Children's Hospital" kicking off the contributions.

Interested people will be able to follow the progress via interactive flight tracking, video and audio on our website during the event. Worldflight is conducted in an online environment on the VATSIM network and is joined by several other full cockpit sims based in Australia and overseas. Their details can be found in the links at the bottom. Virtual Air Traffic Services (ATC) is provided for the flights by VATSIM members around the world and also from the dedicated WorldFlight ATC centre located at Chipping Norton in Sydney Australia. The flight will take seven days to complete and is operated in real time as a regular airline would. One hour turnarounds are scheduled after each sector to allow for crew briefing and cockpit preparation for the next sector. During the seven days the flight will visit 45 airports and cover some 40,000nm.
